Honoring The Working Heritage.
Black Market Marvel is a proud member of the DPCA, and ADGA. We take our oath to these clubs very seriously. All our dogs and goats are health test for breed specific defaults. We often participate in breed specific research, and genetic testing. We feel that research data obtained in these studies is the key to a cure for many diseases our beloved animals falls victim to.
Marvel is both our registered herd name with ADGA and our Kennel name. A little background and a view on our thoughts withe doberman and the Nubian goat. Please take some time to read through our thoughts and enjoy the pictures of our beautiful animals. If you have any questions feel free to contact us via email.
Just as important as health, we see the need to bring back the original temperament traits of the Doberman breed. Doberman are part of the working and guardian group, they are not intended to be suitable for every home. These dogs, although happy sitting next to you on the couch, often fall victim to families that are unable to give them the one on one attention, and interaction with a family/owner that they need. Doberman are extremely bonded to their people, and can sometimes suffer from emotional attachment issues. Often when these issues arise people re-home doberman. This is probably one of the most traumatic things any guardian breed can inured, the lose of their family. With that being said, the purchase, or acquisition of this breed takes time. Please speak with many breeders, and owners, visit homes and rescues, and please please make sure you and your family are in a position to take on a permanent family member.
The doberman with proper handling is often a quiet, intelligent, and fiercely loyal family dog. It is extremely versatile in many dog sports, and tracking work. It can adjust quickly with guidance from its owner to most any situation. They are quick thinking, and witty.
Doberman in our experience, do not have the hardiest of stomachs, and sometimes can end up with food allergies requiring a specific diet. Marvel doberman feeds a raw, prey model diet. We have had no issues with shedding, dander, or ear infections. We have no issues with weight, and our dogs very rarely have bouts of gas. We attribute the health of our dogs on what we feed them. Our diet is based on a chicken protein but could easily switched with any protein base if a dog has a sensitivity to a certain protein. If you are interested learning more about how we feed please feel free to check out our good friends web site at Red Angel Raw.
Marvel doberman is located on 4 beautiful acres. We are nestled between the Huachuca and Mule mountains, and we are only one mile from the San Pedro River. Our doberman are raised with horses, geese, chickens, cats, and Nubian dairy goats. Our dogs work the farm much like a working dog would be expected to, and often help push animals into new pens and go out on trail rides with us. Doberman are not livestock guardians however, they are human guardians, and our doberman are never left unattended on the farm. Doberman have a high prey drive and we would never want to risk the safety of our other animals.
We believe doberman should have a cropped ear, docked tail, and dew claws removed. We also believe that people have a right to choose, and if for some reason someone does not want a cropped ear, we support that decision. There is no veterinarian proof that cropping an ear reduces ear infection in doberman. Cropping ears is purely a cosmetic surgery.
Our family has had the privileged of loving doberman for multiple family generations now. Just because it is the right fit for us, does not make it right for everyone. Every breeders program is different, please understand that we are not all the same, the use and drive in lines do differ, and our lines may be much different than someone else. We applaud and commend all those breeders with a goal in mind for there lines.
Marvel doberman is specifically involved in the health, and versatility of the breed. That does not mean that our doberman are superior to any other breeder.
We do not condone the production of multiple litter just because a dog has a title behind, or in front of its name. We do not condone the production of Z factored or white doberman. Lastly, we certainly do not condone the production of litters just because they are AKC or UKC registered dogs, with no regard to pedigree's, health tests, or titling.
We love doberman, and we feel very blessed to provide guardianship over them. We take our job very seriously to the improvement of the breed. As always, we will do this task, by honoring the working heritage.
Nubian Dairy Goats
We believe in more than just a dairy goat, we believe in a superior dairy animal. We also feel the only way to get this is with the Nubian Dairy goat. Pairing fine milk taste and heavy butterfat have been a passion of ours. Diet has many things to do with our taste. Our dairy herd is feed only the finest alfalfa we can purchase as well as fermented beet pulp and BOSS. Our girls are given rocky mountain sweet feed on the dairy stand and allowed rotational grazing opportunity. We follow a strict Molly's Herbal Wormer routine with our worming Wednesdays. We also provide full access to a sweet lix, regular salt block, and loose mineral. Recently we have implemented the use of Replamin once a week and we have seen a huge jump in our girls health and condition.
We also have had the great pleasure and honor of having some of the finest mentors in the Nubian breed. I am so happy to be allowed the oppertunity to carry on many of these great master dairy men and women. We have had nothing but the finest in genetics for our herd foundation and we can not wait to see where the Lord leads us with these amazing animals.
*We are in the process of testing all of our girls for their Casein genetics.
